This
course introduces the fundamental principles of statics and their applications
in engineering analysis. Topics include forces and vector operations, statics
of particles, moment of forces and couples, and equilibrium of rigid bodies in
two and three dimensions. Students will also learn the analysis of trusses,
frictional effects in engineering systems, determination of center of gravity
and centroids of simple and composite bodies. Upon completion of the course,
students will be able to apply engineering mechanics concepts and
problem-solving techniques to support further studies and engineering
applications.
